Gosh, that clip dates back to 1978. I had no idea they were around back then. In '78, I was a little 7 yr old sweet thang dancing in the mirror to Abba with my pink microphone (plastic hairbrush). So yeah, Abba kept me busy/distracted.

I actually remember this ( but only because the song had a lot of radio air time when I was a kid ). Didn't realise (until just now) that Talking Heads were the band lol!

Its a hymn out of the xtian bible. They leave out the last verse though because its too gory for a song.

Psalm 137

The Mourning of the Exiles in Babylon
1 By the rivers of Babylon,

there we sat down, yea, we wept,
when we remembered Zion.
2 We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof.
3 For there they that carried us away captive required of us a song;

and they that wasted us required of us mirth, saying,
Sing us one of the songs of Zion.
4 How shall we sing the LORD's song in a strange land?
5 If I forget thee, O Jerusalem,

let my right hand forget her cunning.
6 If I do not remember thee,

let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth;
if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy.
7 Remember, O LORD, the children of Edom

in the day of Jerusalem;
who said, Rase it, rase it,
even to the foundation thereof.
8 O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed;

happy shall he be, that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us. Rev. 18.6
9 Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth

thy little ones against the stones.

Stop making sense mate anyone would think you were on the road to nowhere. Its a wild wild life when you are burning down the house and speaking in tongues.

Take Me to the River is an Al Green song but Talking Heads pretty much owned it. Spot, I think those are the lyrics to Rivers of Babylon by Bony M.

The lyrics I posted are the psalm from the KJV bible.

I dont think Boney M or talking heads or anyone else sings that last verse.

Oh yes I know. That last verse is quite the elephant in the room.

Really? I've never heard of Al Green. I'll google him later on and look further into his music.
